Delays & Travel Insurance

In the event of late next-day arrivals or extreme delays, Greenland Expeditions by Land and Sea reserves the right to depart on schedule if the majority of guests are arrived. If the majority of guests are delayed, we reserve the right to depart late and alter the itinerary to ensure seeing the highlights. We also reserve the right to delay or alter the voyage in extenuating circumstances related to the ship itself. In all cases, we will endeavour to give all guests the expedition sailing experience they came for.

Travel insurance is at the responsibility of the guest. It is highly recommended that travellers book a comprehensive travel insurance.

Airfare

Airfare and any costs associated with a stay before or after the Tasermiut Fjord voyage are not included. Flights are provided by Air Greenland via Copenhagen, Denmark and Air Iceland Connect via Keflavik, Iceland and can be booked directly on their websites or via a travel specialist.

Dining On Board

Greenland Expeditions by Land and Sea aims to serve delicious and diverse meals featuring as many local ingredients as possible. The typical Greenlandic diet is heavily based on meat and fish, however South Greenland is by far the region with the best opportunity for fresh, locally-produced vegetables.

We aim to accommodate our guests dietary allergies and wishes to the best of our abilities.

Facilities On Board

All guests will use shared restroom & shower facilities on board Nakuak’. Greenland Expeditions by Land and Sea crew will be responsible for cleaning the facilities on a daily basis, but it is still important that all guests to contribute to a clean and welcoming environment after each use.

Shampoo and shower gel, as well as bath towels, are provided.

We ask that guests do not leave their personal toiletries in the restroom. To make transport of toiletries from cabin to restroom simple, Greenland Expeditions by Land and Sea provides a shower caddy for personal toiletries to each party.

Accessibility & Adventure Level

The Greenland Expeditions by Land and Sea experience is best suited for active and mobile guests in good physical condition. This is in regards to both the ship and the activities.

Due to the nature of narrow doorways, steep stairways and steep thresholds, Nakuak’ is unfortunately not a handicap accessible ship. Additionally, due to the nature of getting on and off the ship by way of a boarding ladder when anchoring away from land, guests must be mobile and in good physical condition.

The Tasermiut Fjord voyage encompasses a wide range of experiences from easy walks through towns on paved roads to several-hour-long hikes on natural terrain with slight elevation gain. It is necessary for guests to be active and used to aerobic activity.
